PLASTIC BUMPER RE-MANUFACTURING

Plastic bumper covers (facias) are supplied repaired and
fully primered ready for light scuffing and painting

When an order is received, finished stock inventory is
established on computer and verified by locating the
item in one of our warehouses.

If an order is not in stock a core will be located and
brought in for re-manufacturing. If a core cannot be
located, the customers own bumper may be requested
for re-manufacturing provided it is in repairable
condition.

Plastic Bumpers covers are repaired through a variety of
techniques. The first step in the repair process is to
reform the cover by hot tank immersions and
heat gun application.

After a bumper cover is reformed it is sandblasted and
sanded by hand sanding and machine sanding to remove
clearcoat and paint.

Cracking and tear damage is repaired by hot air welding.
Specific welding rods matching the plastic types that
bumpers covers are made are fused with heat to create
virtually unbreakable welds.

Sealer compound is applied to fill and level any low spots
prior to the first primer being applied. Filler putty is used
to level pinholes on the subsequent primer applications
resulting in finished product with a smooth even coating
of water-born primer

Spot repairs are available on customer own bumper
covers on which, welding, sealer and primer is applied
only to damaged areas and is billed accordingly. Spot
repairs cannot be offered on all bumper repairs

Other plastic items such as motorcycle fairings, ATV
fenders, snowmobile hoods, fuel and water tanks and
lift bucket liners can all be repaired by similar techniques
used on bumper.

Estimates for this type of work as with spot repairs
require a visual inspection of the item to be worked on
and cannot be quoted over the phone.

Primer being applied to a plastic bumper, a minimum of 3 coats will be applied to form a suitable base requiring only light scuffing prior to painting
